Programme Manager
We are recruiting a highly motivated Programme Manager to work in Open for Business’s Global Programmes Team. This role will lead, manage, and support on key areas of our Local Influencer Programmes (LIPs) across Southeast Asia, East Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean, and new regions.
This role will collaborate with colleagues across the programmes team and other functions to support on a variety of projects from conducting research and developing reports to organising events and tracking programme impact on the economic case for LGBTQ+ inclusion. You will be critical at ensuring that there is consistency across all of the programmes, developing and refining templates and tools for regional and country leads to use. This role will strengthen the programmes function as it continues to grow, helping build out a sustainable model.
This is an exciting jack-of-all-trades role in a fast-paced organisation committed to and passionate about advancing LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion through research and advocacy around the world. This role is based in the UK, though will be expected to travel to the different regions when needed. This role reports to the Director of Global Programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Management
· Support on the development, implementation, and execution of key projects within the programmes team focused on LGBTQ+ inclusion
· Manage the day-to-day operations of programmes, including budget tracking, timeline management, and resource allocation
· Ensure programmes are aligned with the overall mission and strategic goals of Open for Business
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Stakeholder Engagement
Cultivate strong relationships with corporate partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to advance programme goals
Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure successful implementation of joint initiatives
Represent Open for Business at conferences, meetings, and other forums to present findings, promote our programmes, and foster partnerships
Research & Policy Advocacy
Work closely with the research team to design and implement research projects in line with our partners and existing reports
Use data and research findings to inform programme development and advocacy strategies, creating evidence-based presentations for team members to use at conferences and events
Collaborate with key partners to influence public policy and corporate practices that advance LGBTQ+ rights
Monitoring & Evaluation
Support and input on the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of our programmes
Prepare reports and presentations on programme progress, outcomes, and lessons learned for internal and external audiences
Regularly review and refine programme tools based on feedback and evidence of impact
Communications & Reporting
Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging content, including reports, articles, and social media posts, to promote the work of the programmes
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on programme activities and outcomes
Ensure that key achievements and learnings from the programmes are disseminated to relevant stakeholders
PERSON DESCRIPTION
You will have broad experience in project and programme management, particularly in an international setting, that includes day-to-day operations and evidence-based advocacy. You will be confident engaging with different audiences including civil society and businesses, and culturally sensitive to the various groups we work with. You will be a keen problem solver and self-starter, being able to take initiative and work independently as well as being an important part of a cohesive team.
Key Qualifications
● Direct experience in project and programme management and advocacy, ideally within the human rights or business sectors
● Proven ability in leading on complex international programmes with multiple stakeholders, tight deadlines, and staying within budget
● Experience working with large research teams and developing reports in multiple languages
● Ability to analyse research data and use evidence to inform decision-making across programmes
● Experience supporting and managing high-impact events that are specific to varied contexts and needs of target audiences
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
● Passionate about addressing LGBTQ+ inequalities and understanding of the issues facing LGBTQ+ people locally and globally
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in team management, particularly with remote teams
● Experience with MEAL systems
● Experience with supporting on funding applications and reporting to funders

CONTRACT INFORMATION
● Salary range: £45,000-£50,000
● Full time, permanent, with an ideal start date of January 2025
● Based in UK and reports to the Director of Global Programmes
